The objects our departed loved ones leave behind can be both sacred and haunting.  What may be easily overlooked by the world can be one person's treasure -- a pair of dusty glasses a father once smiled through, a flower hair pin a mother proudly adorned, a delicate watch that was still ticking when it was left behind.

These objects are a reminder of the finality of life, the comfort in the stories they tell; and like grief, the complexity of our relationship with them.  When we lose someone we love, we can avoid the reminders of our loss and what they represent.  And when we are ready, we can honor them.  In this series, I chose to honor them.

Every object in this series belonged to someone I loved and lost. I hope you, too, find comfort in the memories of those you loved and lost.
